David C. Hsia - Partner
David Hsia's practice includes patent preparation and prosecution, providing patent infringement and validity opinions, and counseling clients on patent and related matters.
Mr. Hsia has prosecuted patents in various technologies including semiconductor device fabrication, data storage systems, micro-electro-mechanical devices, software, medical devices, networking hardware, and test equipment. He has helped clients build patent portfolios that passed due diligence in acquisitions and a public offering. Mr. Hsia has successfully negotiated favorable settlements for several clients facing patent infringement allegations.
David has worked at the law firm of Lee & Li in Taipei, Taiwan where he assisted senior partner Paul Hsu on China-Taiwan business relations. He has extensive experience working with Asian clients and inventors. He is fluent in conversational Chinese (Mandarin).
Mr. Hsia is a member of the State Bar of the California and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
David enjoys travelling with family, playing basketball, and building remote control models.
Rachel V. Leiterman – PartnerRachel Leiterman's practice includes the preparation and prosecution of domestic and foreign patent applications, patent portfolio management, providing patent infringement and validity opinions, and counseling on patent and other intellectual property matters.
Ms. Leiterman has prosecuted patents in various technologies including III-V optoelectronics and power electronics, light emitting diodes, displays and projection systems, solar systems, semiconductor device fabrication, semiconductor memories, digital circuitry, software, and mechanical devices.
Ms. Leiterman is a member of the State Bar of California and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Rachel also volunteers as a wilderness ranger in the
John Muir Wilderness of the Sierra National Forest.
Brian D. Ogonowsky - PartnerBrian Ogonowsky has been actively working in the field of intellectual property since 1983. Mr. Ogonowsky has prepared and obtained hundreds of patents for his clients and has been involved in almost all aspects of patent law, including prosecuting reexaminations and reissue applications, preparing patent opinions on invalidity and non-infringement, evaluating patent portfolios, assisting companies in determining what to patent, supporting patent litigation, licensing patents, searching for prior art to invalidate patents, providing strategic advice, and many other aspects.
Some of the technical fields in which Mr. Ogonowsky has worked include semiconductor devices, semiconductor fabrication, analog and digital circuitry, data processing, printers, image processing, scanners, lasers, LEDs, optics, semiconductor memories, voltage regulators, atomic layer deposition processing, multimedia systems, communications systems, gaming devices, mechanical devices and toys.
Mr. Ogonowsky is a member of the California Bar (1985) and the Massachusetts Bar (1983) (inactive) and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (1983).
Brian loves dinners with his daughter, running with his dog by the bay, and playing a variety of instruments in bands and the California Pops Orchestra.
